About this cause

We are a parent/carer led support group for adults and children and their families living with ASC/ADHD. We offer informal support, share information, organise social events, maintain and develop contact with professionals (many belong to our membership) and we invite guest speakers. We hold monthly coffee mornings, which are a good starting point for families recently on the ASC ladder. Our resources and library are available here, providing much needed information without the outlay on costly books and equipment. We organise events for our younger members to attend, many of whom miss out on activities taken for granted by other families. As children become adults there is very little provided for them, and we as a group and endeavouring to address this by introducing social events.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our people suffer from anxiety, isolation and depression amongst other problems. ASC is not fully understood, when an adult has a meltdown it is not acceptable. Encouraging our members to be part of the community will help the understanding of the general public, often once the event is understood an ASC person is very reliable. They would then become an asset rather than a drain on resources.
