We want to purchase a marquee for use during Civic Week and community events.
About this cause
Chirnside Civic Week is an annual week long event run by a small committee for all ages of the local community. We are affiliated with our local Common Good Association. We hold events throughout the year to raise money for the Week and also to get the community together regularly. We also try to help other local groups where we can. Our small committee took over 3 years ago and we have grown year on year. We are currently looking forward to Civic Weeks 40th year next year. We are a small village that pulls together regularly and we hope to build on that but raising funds is always pertinent. At the moment we have to rely on renting a marquee from a local town and we are hoping to raise the funds to purchase our own which can be used for many community events.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Civic Week brings the whole community together and we would look to hold more events throughout the year with the use of our own marquee. We currently have to rent from a local town which takes money away that could be spent on events for the community.
