We're raising funds to support 50 seriously ill NHS patients referred to us by hospices in 2018/19.
About this cause
We are a Sheppey based charity that provides FREE supportive integrated healthcare via therapy to NHS Patients referred toys by hospitals, hospices, nurses and GPS throughout Kent, because their patients are coping with the emotional fall out of coping with cancers, MS, MND, Parkinson's, strokes, colostomies/illiostomies, and other long term health conditions. Our vital work supports but is not funded by NHS or Macmillan and we continually by the very nature of work need to fund the therapeutic support we provide.
How this cause brings people in the community together
SHEPPEY community is very proud that The Harmony Therapy Trust was founded on SHEPPEY even though we now serve the whole of Kent. We still treat many SHEPPEY Hospice at Home patients who are among those we are targeting with our help. We also provide work for volunteers in our admin office in SHEPPEY to handle paperwork involved helping them gain confidence in the work place once again.
