About this cause

Cancer Information and Support Services (CISS) is a South West Wales charity, established in 1993, that provides counselling and emotional support to cancer patients, their family and friends and guidance to health professionals. Those that need our help most are cancer patients and their families. Our service is free and confidential and is delivered by a team of experienced staff all of whom are accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and are qualified to at least diploma level. This team is supported by a network of local volunteers. Since 1993 we have supported over 130,000 individuals and we now cover the counties of Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend and Carmarthenshire.

How this cause brings people in the community together

By expanding our service into this age category we can then ensure demand for our support to this age group can be addressed. We get daily requests to support younger individuals and with our unique outreach service we can ensure our support can be accessed either at home, at school, college or other convenient safe location, e.g. GP surgery.
