About this cause
The vision for the future The Ochiltree Community Hub’s Vision is the establishment of a new community facility that will be a well-used, high profile, multipurpose and connected community hub promoting and improving Health and Wellbeing, Education and Community Cohesion and Togetherness. At present the OCH runs the OCH Office and coffee shop in the village to provide a space for local voluntary groups to meet, the coffee shop for the village to enjoy, a place for the OCH to meet and progress their vision and also provide evidence to funders of our ability to operate our vision. The Coop fund would assist in the overall cost of running the Office, also allowing free rent to groups who cannot afford the small rental charged to our rural community voluntary groups over the next 18 months.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Ochiltree Community Hub will be the “anchor” organisation within the community in supporting Active Healthy Lifestyles: this support will create opportunities in play, recreation and sport. The community will be encouraged and included to play an active and responsible role in managing and operating the Hub by volunteering their time.
