The Hub at Ashmore Park
Young People
We are aiming to provide a number of exciting and innovative activities for young people including lantern making and sculpture workshops.
About this cause
Ashmore Park Community Association is a voluntary run registered charity, which has been working for and with the community of Ashmore Park since 1996. We are responsible for the day to day running of The Hub at Ashmore Park, a multi-purpose community centre, library and fitness centre. Over the past 20 years we have supported local people by providing a space for social activities to thrive, as well as putting on an array of community events ourselves, such as family fun days, a regular pensioners fish & chip supper, film screenings, fund raising events and much more. The activities that we host in our centre help to reduce loneliness & isolation, improve sense of community and benefit both the mental & physical health of local people.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By giving local kids access to the type of activities they might not normally take part in we will enable them to gain new skills, increase their confidence and work with their peers in a different environment to school. In doing this we will be able to give them something different to do, which in turn will help to reduce boredom and anti social behaviour.
