About this cause

Scouting aims to develop the physical, mental and moral aspects of young boys and girls through a progressive programme where learning takes place whilst having fun. This involves games, progressive badge work and outdoor activities. The Scout Group provides Scouting for a hundred and fifty young people each week in six sections, two Beaver Colony's aged six to eight , two Cub Packs aged eight to ten and two Scout Troops aged ten to fourteen. The young people are supported by twenty five adult leaders and volunteers who keep the sections and the group running.

How this cause brings people in the community together

By replacing the old wooden hall now before it falls down, we will be able to provide generations of young people in the future with the same opportunity to enjoy Scouting that have been enjoyed by generations of their predecessors. The community will benefit from having an excellent resource for the local young people to attend as well as being able to use the new building themselves.
