Growing Communities at the Roundhouse

We want to deliver a community festival with groups and need materials for our acre growing space for the coming season.
About this cause
Youth Moves is a youth work charity working with young people aged 8-19 years old from across South Bristol but with a greater focus on those areas with the most need. We are based at The Park Centre in Knowle West and also own an allotment site where our Roundhouse and Growing Communities project is delivered. Youth Moves’ broad key aims are to: • Raise the aspirations of young people and prepare them for the future; • Improve young people’s well-being; • Reduce their involvement in anti-social behaviour/ increase community cohesion; • To engage them in positive activities and new opportunities, especially social action. The team deliver programmes to young people in a range of community and education settings, for this grant we are looking to develop our Growing Communities project.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This event will raise the confidence and self esteem of the young people and adults who organise the event and build community spirit across the estate. It will promote the roundhouse as a buzzing community resource that can be enjoyed by all, promoting outdoor learning and other groups to rent the roundhouse & help make the youth and community projects we deliver at the roundhouse sustainable.
