Help us keep our village hall well-maintained to enable community members of all ages to pursue their hobbies & interests.
About this cause
To establish and run Harriston Village Hall, to provide facilities for recreation and other Leisure activities and for individuals or groups who have need of such facilities. It is hoped that by providing a varied and wide range of activities will enable Users from the Village and the wider area of Aspatria to interact and gain from these activities. We hope to provide some of the following, Education and Training, First Aid, Life Skills, Arts, Cultural Events, Heritage and History, Amateur Sports, Community Development, Youth Activities, Social Events, Charitable Events, Luncheon Clubs, Coffee Mornings, Mother and Toddler Club, Drop-in Session, Advice Sessions, Healthy Living, Keep Fit etc.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will benefit the Local area of Harriston and Aspatria by providing what is needed but also what is identified by people living in these areas, we already are aware of certain needs such as Social Events, Coffee Mornings, History Group, Luncheon Club; we want people to share their ideas with us. By doing this initial work of identifying what the Community wants we will be able to establish various Groups. We have always had fantastic support from people living in Harriston but also people living in Aspatria and surrounding areas. We want to ensure that this happens again. At present the four Trustees are establishing a "Volunteer Group" to enable these Clubs / Groups get established, we held an Open Day to gather people and ideas, next steps is to get Groups / Clubs started.
