About this cause
Footsteps Children’s Services Ltd provide childcare and family support. We offer services through crèche, playgroup, after school clubs and nurseries. We provide education and care to children, and a package of support to families. We have a cross section of families who use our service. Some settings work with some of the most vulnerable children, supporting those on child protection plans, looked after children’s plans and children who have additional needs. At Darras Hall we provide preschool sessions , and essential before and after school care thus allowing parents to access employment and education confident that their children are being well cared for, this not only supports economic wellbeing but also makes a positive contribution to local businesses and the community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
As early years practitioners we know how important communication and language skills can be and how they can impact on every other area of learning. Research in to children’s communication has shown that children communicate more freely in smaller spaces where they feel safe and have some control of what is going on around them. With this in mind we would like to develop our outdoor area to incorporate snugs, den’s, digging pits and physical play. The snugs will create an environment that supports speaking and listening, promotes engagement and emotional well-being and also provides a sense of intimacy allowing a quieter area for children to relax and communicate freely with each other.
