Cotherstone Preschool
Education & Skills
We want to develop our reading area with a reading chair, new bookcase and books to develop preschooler's imagination and reading skills.
About this cause
The Preschool plays a valuable part in nurturing and developing our 2 - 5 year olds whilst also providing a childcare service for local parents. We develop strong links with our local community and families by organising many local events e.g. Breakfast with Santa, Easter Egg Hunts that involve more than just our preschool children. Our aim is to support our preschool children in order for them to have not only the skills but also the confidence to transition smoothly into full time education. We love to involve them with our attached school as much as possible. We have a goal of helping the children become more aware and interested in the environment in which they live and always have an outdoor or natural world project on the go.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our current reading area has been put together mainly through donation and therefore many of the books and facilities are old or not ideal for creating an area that supports and develops young childrens interest in books. Books are such a key tool in our preschoolers education they enable both reading & listening skills, provide both visual & audial stimulus and drive the imagination of young minds. A new reading area will have comfortable places to sit, a quiet area to focus and beautiful new books to inspire. The area will be there not only for our current children but for years and children to come.
