About this cause
We aim to provide our community with access to a qualified SOMA Breath Advanced Instructor to help students self-regulate during stressful situations. Regular breathwork practice enhances physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing and is recognised as an effective self-care tool. Schools within a 50-mile radius of Richmond can choose between in-person or remote sessions. We will train school staff on the programme's key elements to ensure effective referrals and integration of breathwork. Parents and caregivers will also have the opportunity to participate when appropriate. Our goal is to equip young people with this valuable life skill, positively impacting their wellbeing for life.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Over the past seven years, we have focused on promoting inclusive practices within our community, which includes schools, wellness organisations, families, and support groups dedicated to holistic wellbeing. Our breathwork project aims to help young people unlock their potential by addressing barriers such as stress, anxiety, and poor wellbeing. We seek to educate them about the positive effects of breathwork and equip them with practical skills to manage stress, enhancing both their emotional and physical health. By fostering connections within the community and sharing best practices, we hope to impart a valuable life skill that will benefit young people’s wellbeing for years to come.
