Babayangu Foundation
People: Improving people’s mental wellbeing
We would like to provide workshops and activities to improve mental and physical wellbeing for young people aged 18-24 years from BME communities, utilising a peer model and shared learning.

About this cause
We raise awareness on mental health and provide person-centred support to people who are affected by poor mental health through a range of activities. In addition, we provide a series of personal development workshops to improve general wellbeing and employability. Baba Yangu empowers and equips individuals from BME communities to overcome mental and physical barriers for healthier and happier lives.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our research reveals that over 30% of young people aged 18-24 from BME communities in Glasgow have experienced multiple mental health issues, made worse by Covid-19. We will draw on our peer/community model to address these issues, leading to improved wellbeing.
