We would like to teach bike maintenance to our community for free, while providing free bikes for refugees and asylum seekers in Leeds.

About this cause
Leeds Bike Mill gets people cycling and gives them the skills to maintain their bikes. We offer refurbished bikes; diverting waste from landfills. We teach bike maintenance, offer volunteer opportunities, and provide free bikes for refugees and asylum seekers (built by our volunteers). We make cycling accessible and inclusive so people can enjoy a cheap, healthy, and eco-friendly way to travel.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Fix It To Ride volunteers come together at weekly sessions to learn new skills and socialise in what they describe as “a welcoming and safe environment”. We widen participation in cycling too, particularly among people who face financial barriers or low confidence. We donate bikes to families so they can enjoy cycling together and young people who need a bike to attend college or training.
