We want to repair and improve our Grade II listed clubhouse and bar and make it a usable space for our community.
About this cause
Esholt Sports and Leisure is home to Tong Park Esholt Cricket Club - a local community club with 3 senior teams and a recently rejuvenated junior section with a growing number of children aged 6-12. Our aim is to provide fun, affordable opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to play and enjoy cricket. We also provide football facilities to 3 local football teams and have a caravan park on site. We hope to improve and update our grade II listed clubhouse and bar to enable further community use with work required to repair the roof, replace rotten windows and update the club internally. It often remains idle and could be used for more meetings, social events and by other community and sports clubs. This would also act as a further income stream allowing more improvements.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We already run an expanding and popular cricket club with 3 senior teams made up predominantly of local people and are currently investing in improving our junior section for children in our area. We hope to improve upon this and encourage use of our facilities by local groups, charities, sports clubs - anyone from the community who needs a base to work from or a space to meet and get together.
