We want to improve and extend our church halls, so that an even greater variety of community groups can make the most of the space.
About this cause
Wilford church halls have been a vital part of community life in our village, but are showing their age and are struggling to fulfil their potential. The halls serve all members of the community, particularly young people, but also regular fitness groups, elderly luncheon club and local societies. A group of volunteers from the church and community have come together with a vision of improving the halls to optimise their current and future use by the community. We have identified five key area of focus for improvement works: Accessibility, Storage, Usage (enabling the two halls to be used independently of each other), Modernisation and Efficiency. With these improvements, we believe that the halls can be at heart of the local community for the next 50 years.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The halls serve all members of the community, enabling a wide range of activities. Regular use of the halls serves the elderly, adult fitness classes, local societies and young people particularly benefit from uniform, youth and toddler groups and birthday parties. However, there is scope to improve facilities ensuring greater accessibility, safety and long term usage.
